An amoeba does more than you, and this is the wake up call you didn’t know you needed. The first time I said this to someone, they just stared at me with that pathetic, moronic look of someone who had no idea what an amoeba even was.
I had to go there and explain that it is a single-celled organism that causes diseases in the human body. Furthermore, unlike the being standing in front of me who seemed inert and just waiting for death to arrive, the amoeba divides and thus multiplies. Even with all its biological limitations, it still manages to double in size.
That same amoeba can cause much more discomfort and be more dangerous to society than that thing standing in front of me who knew nothing, took no stand on anything, and simply had no opinion about anything. Consequently, the kind of being that is, in fact, less than an amoeba.
And even after giving the whole explanation, I knew the message hadn’t been fully decoded. The being in front of me only had a vague idea about it all. This individual simply didn’t have the two neurons required nor enough of a psyche to interpret such information.
Your final wake up call
Human beings forget that the act of silence is also political. Not taking a stand is political, as it is a way of refusing to commit or agreeing in a non-culpable way with the environment around you. However, this is the worst kind of person, the famous “convicted simpleton” who plays the role of something less than an amoeba, just standing there absorbed, simply watching time and life pass by.
It is no use waiting for manna to fall from heaven to feed the people on the way to the promised land, that will not happen. Therefore, if you don’t leave inertia behind and invade Egypt, enemy troops will keep you in Babylonian captivity forever.
Oh, but the Hanging Gardens of Babylon are proof that even in the middle of the desert nature can exist and persist through adversity, yes. I agree, but do the gardens still exist? No. Why? Because time is the master of everything and it destroys and erases whatever no longer has a function.
Wake up, don’t be an amoeba. Transform yourself, multiply, reinvent yourself. Even if you cause pain and discomfort around you, it is your life that is at stake and it needs to be the center of your actions and activities. Only when you stop being this inert, single-celled humanoid will you win and bear your own fruits in your life.
As Madonna said in God Control: “This is your wake-up call, We don’t have to fall, A new democracy, God and pornography”
We need to wake up. So do this, wake up to life! Step into the light.
